A Comparative Biomechanical Analysis during Planned and Unplanned Gait Termination in Individuals with Different Arch Stiffnesses

چکیده

Although values of arch stiffness index (ASI) have been used to evaluate structure and injury susceptibility, investigations are limited regarding the influence ASI on biomechanical characteristics during gait termination, which involves a challenging balance transition from walking standing. This study aimed explore plantar pressure distribution lower extremity joint kinematic differences between individuals with both stiff flexible (SA FA, respectively) planned unplanned termination (PGT UGT, respectively). Following calculation ASI, sixty-five asymptomatic male subjects were classified participated in two types tests acquire data. Parameters compared SA FA using two-way ANOVA PGT respectively. UGT was found larger range motion hip sagittal plane knee transverse when PGT. The limb joints caused by difference mainly concentrated ankle metatarsophalangeal joints. Plantar data, represented maximum pressure, showed significant forefoot rearfoot areas. These results suggest that could change freedom joints, tends conduct compensatory adjustment for kinetic chain. An understanding structures may provide additional insights into foot function prediction termination.

Locomotor Control during Planned and Unplanned Gait Termination in Essential Tremor

Gait termination (GT) is a destabilizing transitional task that requires a shift from a dynamic state of motion to a static position [3]. GT can either be in response to unanticipated or anticipated stopping. While deficits in gait and gait initiation have been reported in individuals with essential tremor (ET), there is an absence in information regarding GT in those with ET, making it difficu...

A Comparative Kinematic and Biomechanical Analysis of Two Gait Simulators

The maturation of the fitness movement has brought with it an increasingly sophisticated consumer that has become concerned with the stress which activities such as jogging or running impose on the body. In order to maintain and improve their level of fitness, many in this group have sought out new modalities that provide the desired training stimulus but with reduced wear and tear. To meet thi...

Received 16 June 2008; Accepted after revision 26 September 2008 The treatment of bony defects of the tibia at the time of revision total knee replacement is controversial. The place of compacted morsellised bone graft is becoming established, particularly in contained defects. It has previously been shown that the initial stability of impaction-grafted t...

Analysis of Symmetry of Weight-Bearing in Athletes With and Without Low Back Pain during Gait

Background. Low Back Pain (LBP) is a prevalent phenomenon in athletes and asymmetrical loading on the limbs has been proposed as a risk factor related to this disease. Objectives. The purpose of the present study was to compare the asymmetry of loading applied on the legs between men with and without LBP during gait. Methods. A total of 40 participants, comprising 20 men with non-specific LBP...
